EXPLORE FLAREPATHS

FINISHED WORKFLOW · 01 OF 4

Daily operations app.
The morning numbers, already done.

The problem: Managers rebuilt the same numbers every morning, and staffing gaps showed up after the rush had started. What it does: The answer, the gaps and the coaching notes are waiting before open.

Built in my previous retail management role and used by the team every day. This page recreates it with invented data; it isn’t a FlarePaths client project.

HOW THE WORKFLOW RUNS

From the first number
to the person who acts on it.

  1. 5:00 a.m.

    Exports land

Yesterday’s sales, hours and sign-ups arrive from the systems the store already used.

  2. 5:30 a.m.

    The app does the math

It compares each number with what was expected by that hour, not a flat daily goal.

  3. 6:00 a.m.

    Answer first

Managers open one screen: the biggest gap, coverage holes and who needs a coaching conversation.

  4. 7:00 a.m.

    The huddle acts

Coverage is fixed before the rush and each lead leaves with one thing to do.

  5. All day

    Help at hand

Leads check live pace and new hires search the training guides mid-shift.

THE KIND OF TOOL I BUILD

Not just a dashboard.
A tool the team runs on.

A working, simplified version of the operations app I built and still maintain for a retail team: daily numbers, coverage, coaching and training in one place. Names, metrics and numbers are changed. Everything you change recalculates in your browser.

    Where the schedule needs support

Area, time and statusScheduled / required

In a real project, this reads your POS, scheduling and spreadsheet exports automatically and is built around your metrics, your areas and the way your managers actually work. This example shows the thinking: answer first, expectations with context, gaps flagged, people compared with their own history, and training people can actually find mid-shift.

    WHAT CHANGED

    Before and after.

    Before

    • Two people spent mornings copying numbers between reports
    • Gaps found when a line backed up
    • Coaching from memory, often only the bottom performers
    • New hires shadowed whoever was on

    After

    • About 15 hours a week of manual reporting replaced
    • Coverage gaps flagged before open
    • Each person compared with their own history
    • Searchable guides and short practice on the floor

    IN YOUR BUSINESS

    The same idea,
    built around your work.

    Restaurant

Covers, ticket times and labor by daypart, with the thin shift flagged before service.

    Shop or showroom

Sales, conversion and add-ons by person and hour, with coaching notes for the lead.

    Service crew

Jobs booked, completed and called back, with tomorrow’s routes checked against who’s on.
